Southern Africa Open Places

The Southern Africa Open Places Initiative is led by The GreenHouse Project in Johannesburg, South Africa and Kufunda Learning Village in Ruwa, Zimbabwe. As “open places,” these learning partners are welcoming, collaborative organizations that balance this regional work with deep commitments to their own local communities. The Southern Africa Open Places Initiative is working on organic, sustainable food production and youth development. By harnessing the collective wisdom of the region and engaging youth in leadership, members of The Southern Africa Open Places Initiative are taking the future into their own hands—moving beyond their present social and economic conditions and stepping into new, powerful possibilities.
