Berkana's commitment to supporting pioneering leadership calls us into the world to deepen our relationships with leaders who are giving birth to the new forms, processes and leadership that will restore hope to the future. A Learning Journey is an opportunity to discover the new forms of leadership emerging beyond our own communities. We believe the rest of the world has something essential and important to teach us about leadership. With Margaret Wheatley and the pioneers who started these initiatives as our hosts, we travel together to visit the people and places who are engaged in the world's most critical work. In November of 2004, Berkana led its first Learning Journey to South Africa and Zimbabwe. Since that first journey, more than 60 participants have joined Berkana in returning to southern Africa four times and have begun Learning Journey expeditions to India and Mexico.
